14 Dec WEEDS, VINES & A FRENCH BRAID WITH A TWIST!
JACKIE (KH FOUNDER) PULLING VINES AND THE AWESOME VOLUNTEER CREW
So, this weekend we volunteered at Long Key Nature Center in Davie, Florida. We pulled 2 different types of vines and learned so much about how vines suffocate trees and how they also hurt the animal’s food source.
These are some serious vines and they don’t want to come out. A few times I was pulling so hard that I was thrown backwards and almost landed on my ass. Who knew these vines are actually so dangerous to these park grounds.
I have tremendous respect for all the manual laborers out there…. One day of it and I’m still sore this Monday morning. But it was SO worth it and I can’t wait to do it again.
I share these volunteer experiences to show you that there are many options to volunteer and hope to get more people involved.
So get out there and volunteer. I promise it will make you feel GREAT!!!
